The old classrooms in the Riyadh German International School have not kept up with demand. The new building in Umm Al Hammam offers roomy, state-of-the-art classrooms in a bright, accessible, welcoming public space.

The opening of the new location comes on the heels of Germany’s participation in the 30th annual Al-Janadriyah in 2016. This new location run by the Goethe-Institut will now serve not only as a place to learn languages, but also a meeting point of cultures, and an enduring symbol of Germany’s commitment to continuing dialogue and exchange with Saudi Arabia.

In 2016 alone, a total of 284 students have sat Goethe-Institut’s internationally recognized German-language exams, and 1043 students have taken German courses. The students come from more than 20 nations, and many plan to study at a German universities.
